Wireless DMX (Search result: 23)

Wireless DMX

The basis for almost every modern stage show is the communication protocol DMX - Digital Multiplex. This was developed in the 1980s by the American United States Institute for Theater Technology in collaboration with representatives of the event technology industry. The introduction of DMX as a standard in the industry enabled uniform communication between different lighting equipment and stage devices. This significantly improved the control and synchronization of lighting effects and other stage elements.

Wireless DMX is a more recent development in the field of DMX. The system consists of a DMX transmitter and one or more DMX receivers. The transmitter converts the DMX signal into a wireless format and forwards it to the intended receiver. These wireless systems usually operate on different frequencies such as 2.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz for the wireless transmission of DMX signals. The range of the system is influenced by the power of the transmitter and the number of transmitters used. The DMX range for an outdoor event may be significantly greater than the range indoors. Once the signal has reached the receiver, it converts the wireless signal into a "normal" DMX signal. The equipment connected to the receiver then executes the corresponding movement or color change, for example.

The use of wireless DMX offers advantages for the preparation, implementation, and dismantling of an event. If wireless DMX, splitters, or other DMX-capable devices are used, there are no longer any limits to the positioning and design of the lighting technology. After all, there is no need to lay cables. This also means that the installation and set-up of the lighting technology can be carried out much more quickly. At the same time, the risk of accidents for artists, technicians, and visitors is reduced, as fewer cables need to be laid on the floor.

Our range includes various receivers, transmitters, and transmitters that allow you to equip your equipment with wireless DMX. We also offer QuickDMX radio receivers from EUROLITE in our range. This transceiver can be used both as a transmitter and as a receiver. GFSK technology (Gaussian Frequency Shift Keying) also enables interference-free operation, even if Bluetooth or WLAN are used in a location at the same time.

The EUROLITE Set DMX Split 8x splitter is used to amplify and split an incoming DMX signal. The DMX splitter from our range makes it possible to split a DMX signal into eight DMX outputs. A single DMX source can therefore be used to control several devices simultaneously via DMX. In this way, it reliably supplies a large number of devices with the corresponding DMX signal. A transmitter and receiver are included in the scope of delivery.

Do you still have questions about DMX splitters or QuickDMX receivers and their use in outdoor applications? Then please contact our employees. They will be happy to advise you on the use of DMX, the required transmitters, and DMX-compatible lighting technology.
